An Ohio Man

Are you a new father? Are you a father who has been struggling for parental rights for years? Are you having a hard time not strangling the judge, the therapist, and/or the mother of your children for betraying you? An Ohio Man is a book written to remind us, fathers, that we are not alone in this game of life. We have help and outlets that will assist us in our struggles to be good parents to our babies.

An Ohio man is shaped by the journey of an American Indian man who is navigating the labyrinth of fatherhood, dealing with the mothers of his children, working through past traumas with his family, and with the system (government) that benefits from the misery of its citizens. He has been thinking about and working on balancing these factors, often bumping his head against brick ceilings. So, he decided to write down the information he had found, along with the scenarios that had gotten him to this point in his life (for better or worse). This is a very personal book to Mr. Slim, which has deeply affected his mental health and overall well-being. No tears or pats on the back are expected from reading this book; he desires understanding through backed-up statistics and personal anecdotes.

Description

The family structure of the past has been eroded in global civilizations. Parents have been ostracized in favor of the government. Gender roles have been reversed and perverted. Choosing the right mate has been automated through AI. Is modern therapy helping us? Are family courts assisting our children to become well-adjusted adults? And who benefits?

These and other questions have plagued Cherokee Slim’s mind over the years, so he began to write about the strife of life to help ease his pain and release the pressure cooker of appeasing his surrounding environment like a good little boy. An Ohio Man focuses on some of the trials and tribulations of life that a father can and probably will face in fulfilling his role as head of household and as the pillar of his family’s communal structure. Some of the hurdles mentioned in the enclosed pages include social engineering, finding balance in modern relationships, mental health issues that can arise without balance, family court biases, how the media influences us all, and possible solutions to avoid the slippery slope of complacency and appeasement.

Anecdotes abound, examples are given, and statistics back his words like a honey badger in a Level IV Kevlar vest. This book will upset some and help many others.

What will it do for you?

Relationships

Traditionally, grandpa had the last say, but grandma’s voice was the most listened to. Grandfathers were mostly silent and contemplative, so if you had a problem, you would typically go to grandmothers first.

The Law

It does not matter who is the better fit to raise children; in more than 90% of court decisions, the mother is automatically designated as the primary caregiver. A father has to prove (which is almost impossible) that the mother is unfit to get partial custody, let alone full custody of the children. One would think that whatever is in a child's best interest would give the child their natural Human Rights.

Mental Health

Looking at yourself in the mirror is becoming a lost art. If someone can peel their eyes away from their phone screens long enough to wash their face in the morning, they often still cannot look themselves in the eyes to connect with their inner selves, to check in with their inner self to assess their values and worth.
